When I think of capturing my heart of course I think of my hubby and family. I met my husband at a Super Bowl Party 25 years ago, when the Redskins played the Broncos. We both went with friends and I thought he was cute so I kept serving him nachos. We bet dinner on the game and as they say the rest is history.
When we got married he gave me this great poem about a tree and how it has roots and will grow and outlive a rose. For the life of me I can not find it, but I feel like a tree captures all my hearts.
It has roots that represent my family and ancestors, a trunk that represents my partner and branches that include my boys and extended family and friends that have accumulated.
I thought I might sketch a tree, but decided to take some pictures of two of my favorite trees in my yard, a dogwood and a Dawn Redwood.
I gave the Dawn Redwood to my husband as an anniversary present several years ago.
I started shooting pictures of the tree from the deck and decided to get a close up and there on our Dawn Redwood a heart bark...wow!
